Photo DojoRevival

Snap yourself with your phone, then fight your friends on the big screen. A free fighting game made of your own photos, in the browser.

How it works

  1. Open the game on a laptop or TV. It shows a code and a QR code.
  2. Scan it with a phone. A friend holds the phone (or prop it up) while you strike 16 poses: stance, punches, kicks, getting hit, a victory pose, your fighting style's signature move, and a handshake for good sportsmanship. Then record three battle cries.
  3. Your fighter appears on the big screen. Pick it and fight, two players on one keyboard or with game controllers. Alone? Practice against the computer.

Down + punch is an uppercut, down + kick a low kick, punch + kick together a throw. Down + punch + kick is your fighter's signature move: the Brawler's shoulder charge, the Grappler's bear hug, the Guardian's parry or the Acrobat's flying knee. Hold back to block. Keys can be remapped in Settings.

FAQ

What do I need?

A laptop or a computer hooked up to a TV, with a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. A phone with a camera. Two players can share one keyboard, or plug in game controllers (Xbox, PlayStation and most others work).

Do I have to install anything or sign up?

No. Everything runs in the browser, and there are no accounts.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. See Your photos stay yours above.

Why does the first capture take a while to start?

The phone downloads about 250 MB of AI models the first time (pose detection and background removal), so use Wi-Fi if you can. They're stored on the phone, so after that it starts in seconds.

My phone won't connect to the game.

Being on the same Wi-Fi as the game helps. Some networks (offices, hotels, schools) block direct connections between devices; try another network or a phone hotspot. If the game screen was reloaded, it shows a new code: enter that one. You can always download your fighter as a file on the phone and use “Import fighter file” on the game screen instead.

How do I get a clean cut-out?

Stand in front of a plain wall in good, even light, with your whole body in the frame (about 3–4 m from the camera), sideways, facing right. Avoid clothes the same colour as the wall. Any pose can be retaken before you send the fighter.

Where are my fighters saved? Can I back them up?

In the browser on the game screen (and the phone keeps the last one it captured). Browsers, especially on iPhone and iPad, can clear site data when storage runs low, so use “Export” to keep a .photodojo file of fighters you love. Import it later, on any computer.

Can I play with friends over the internet?

Not yet: it's a couch game, with both players at the same screen. You can send a friend your fighter file, though.

Is this Nintendo's Photo Dojo?

No. It's an unofficial fan project inspired by Photo Dojo, a 2009 DSiWare game by Nintendo. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo, and contains no Nintendo code or assets.
